Influencing Behaviour and Decision-making in Businesses and other Organisations towards increased Energy Efficiency

This workshop brought together a range of stakeholders to explore how to more effectively influence businesses and other organisations to increase energy efficiency. The workshop aimed at gaining a better understanding of how decisions are made and what types of information or actions influence behaviour and decision-making.  The objective of the workshop was to identify effective and promising approaches to increase the impact of energy efficiency programmes.We discussed programme success factors, triggers and types of information needed to stimulate behaviour change. We explored costs involved in achieving change organisations and how people and organisations interact with new technologies changes – especially controls and metering systems. During the workshop we explored how to effectively link energy efficiency to priorities, how to ensure senior management buy-in, and how to promote a culture of energy efficiency and ultimately embed energy efficiency into business operations.
