Japan
…safety. Achieving the aim of carbon-neutrality by 2050 will require substantially accelerating the deployment of low-carbon technologies by 2030, to address regulatory and institutional barriers and further enhance competition in energy markets. It will also be important to develop different decarbonisation scenarios and to prepare for the possibility that certain low-carbon technologies, such as nuclear, might not expand as quickly as hoped. Stronger reliance on market-based instruments, such as carbon pricing, could be one policy option for Japan to cost-effectively reduce emissions, foster innovation and further increase the country’s high level of energy efficiency.

Rare Earth Elements
…the current state of the rare earth elements market, examining demand and supply dynamics and key technological developments. It analyses the full value chain from mining to permanent magnet production, evaluates vulnerabilities across supply chains, and highlights the implications of potential supply disruptions. Based on these analyses, the report outlines eight targeted policy recommendations that can pave the way for more secure, diversified and resilient rare earth element supply chains. The analysis is founded on the work of the IEA Critical Minerals Security Programme and aims to inform the discussions at the G7 meetings under the French Presidency in 2026.

Global Energy and Climate Model Macro drivers
Overview The Global Energy and Climate Model (GEC Model) uses macro drivers, techno-economic inputs and policies as input data to design and calculate the scenarios. The values for the different data categories and scenarios used in the GEC Model 2025 can be downloaded here.Economic activity and population are the two fundamental drivers of demand for energy services in GEC Model scenarios. Unless otherwise specified, these are kept constant across all scenarios as a means of providing a starting point for the analysis and facilitating the interpretation of the results. The projections are based on the average retail prices…

…an energy sector based largely on hydropower and fuelwood, in addition to imports of fossil fuels. It is also an important transit country for the region, with major oil and gas pipelines running across Georgian territory. Efforts are required to improve energy efficiency and capitalise on the country’s renewable energy potential.
Georgia has made solid progress in the past decade, both in improving the security of its energy supply and in transitioning to a cleaner, more sustainable energy system. Although Georgia is still confronted with many challenges in its transition to a more secure, sustainable and affordable energy future…- Overview

Clean Energy Technology Supply Chain Data Executive summary
…the clean energy technology supply chain is developing rapidly, and systems of data collection must be able to keep pace as technologies, resource availabilities and cost structures change over time.Strengthening global supply chains for clean power is the goal of the Supply Chains Mission which was established by the United Kingdom in 2025 under the Global Clean Power Alliance (GCPA). The Mission aims to work with international partners to identify and deliver the changes needed to diversify clean power supply chains and resolve bottlenecks. This report supports the work of the Data pillar of the Mission by providing a high…

Energy Efficiency 2025 Transport
…total domestic energy demand. The remaining 10% is split between domestic aviation, domestic shipping and rail.In advanced economies, passenger cars dominate road transport demand, accounting for around 65% of the transport energy use. Trucks make up most of the remainder. Buses play a minor role in energy demand, but they transport people in a much more efficient way than private cars. As a result, replacing existing inefficient, fossil fuel powered cars and trucks with more efficient and electric ones, together with promoting more efficient modes of transport (such as public transport and cycling), can accelerate efficiency progress in road…

Powering Ireland’s Energy Future Executive summary
…solar, storage and imports by 2035, while managing growing electricity demand from the housing, data centre, heat and transport sectors. To support decision makers as they plan for the future, this report introduces a pathway that explores what would be required to maintain electricity security while advancing towards Ireland’s ambitions. This Adapted Transition Pathway was developed with EirGrid, which manages Ireland's transmission grid. It combines a range of existing projections and scenarios based on Ireland’s sectoral ambitions, exploring how the supply side could transform to meet a potential near doubling of electricity demand by 2035, driven by…

…if the strength of international action differs, measures such as carbon border adjustments could be considered in order to help prevent carbon leakage. Further participation in multilateral fora is needed to negotiate sectoral agreements and provide international finance to assist the transition in developing economies.
Manage existing assets and near-term investments in order to create a smooth energy transition
The next investment cycle could have an enormous impact on the trajectory of emissions from industry in the next three decades, and action today is needed to lay the groundwork for a smooth transition. Policy makers should consider mandating retrofit…
