The funding scheme for wind power pilot projects was launched by the Swedish Energy Agency in 2003 and ran until 2012.  The objective was to decrease costs for new establishments of wind power and to be a driver for the expansion of wind power in Sweden.

The scheme was funded for two periods, in 2003-2007 and in 2008-2012, wih a budget of SEK 350 million, each. The support was granted to larger wind establishments both on- and offshore. Support could also be granted to measures aiming at improving the knowledge about the effects of wind power, which could simplify planning procedures and spur the development and expansion of wind power in Sweden.
