Law on Gas Supply

This Law applies to gas production, processing, transportation, storage and distribution, regulating its sale and use. It recognizes the need to protect human health and the environment as well as to promote efficient use of gas.

 

In particular, it determines that gas installations shall ensure that gas is not released into the atmosphere. Furthermore, it requires that consumers install and maintain detectors for gas leaks and carbon monoxide in construction sites. Additionally, it establishes that related permitting requests shall be presented together with documents concerning the efficiency of gas use and environmental impact assessments.

 

This regulation also has provisions with regards to safety issues, the state`s power to inspect facilities at all times, gas tariffs, and penalties for non-compliance.
