MER = market exchange rate; sub-Saharan Africa excludes South Africa. SSA = sub-Saharan Africa (excludes South Africa). The target for full access by 2030 category includes countries with 100% access to electricity targets by 2030. The other target category includes countries with targets less ambitious than full access by 2030. The share of countries with and without targets and the number of people without access living in those countries is based on their status as of 2021.
