In answer to the global energy price crisis, the government of Honduras reduced diesel taxes by HNL 10 /gallon from February 2022. In March 2022, an additional 50 % subsidy on diesel prices was enacted.

The Fuel Fund Management Committee, which continuously manages the Oil fund to maintain fuel prices affordable, increased the diesel subsidy to 20.36 baht per liter, up from 18.31 baht before the announcement.

Price reduction for diesel and gasoline
The Government of Romania enacted a measure providing for a price reduction of gasoline and diesel. Under the measure, gasoline and diesel sellers receive a compensation of RON 0.25 per litre from the state budget in case they grant a price reduction to final consumers of RON 0.5 per litre. The measure was initially adopted from July to September 2022, but later extended until the end of 2022.

Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative
The Ministry of Natural Resources announced that 14 projects in the Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative (IODI) are moving to Phase 2. The projects have received CAD 500,000 in funding to develop a community energy plan, identify and deliver training, and develop a detailed clean energy implementation plan. The IODI is a CAD 20 million Impact Canada Initiative aiming to reduce diesel reliance in remote Indigenous Communities. The initiative was designed based on 18 months of engagement with rights holders, Indigenous organizations and stakeholders. National Clean Diesel Campaign
The National Clean Diesel Campaign (NCDC) promotes clean air strategies by working with manufacturers, fleet operators, air quality professionals, environmental and community organizations, and state and local officials to reduce diesel emissions. NCDC activities include (1) developing new emissions standards for locomotive and marine diesel engines and (2) promoting the reduction of emissions for existing diesel engines through cost-effective and innovative strategies, including use of cleaner fuels, retrofitting and repairing existing fleets, idling reduction among others and (3) awarding competitive grants to fund projects that implement diesel emission reduction strategies.
