                The regulation of 12 December 2012 sets up a new financial aid scheme called "PRIMe House €. The regulation went into force on 1 January 2013 superseding regulation in force between 2008 and 2012.Scheme provides financial support in form of grants for projects aiming to improve energy savings and usage of renewable energy sources in the building sector.                 The US Department Of Energy updated energy efficiency standards for room air conditioners and portable air cleaners in 2023. The new rules were initially to come into effect in 2024 but were delayed with final rules 2025-05-20.

                The Thai Industrial Standard document, MOC. 2134-2553, issued by the Ministry of Industry, establishes energy efficiency requirements for room air conditioners, both split and non-split types, with a cooling capacity not exceeding 12,000 watts. It specifies minimum energy efficiency ratios (EER).

                Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners

                The Energy Commission of Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and with financial backing from the Clean Cooling Collaborative (CCC), has been spearheading the Scaling up Energy-Efficient and Climate-Friendly Cooling project since 2022. To advance this initiative, the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially approved and implemented the new Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners.

                Aid Program for energy efficiency actions in SMEs and large company in the industrial sector

                The Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDEA) expanded the budget for the Aid Program for energy efficiency actions in SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector.

                 

                The fund is used for the implementation of energy saving and efficiency measures in industry to reduce carbon emissions and  final energy consumption. Said measures include:

                - Renovation of the steam and hot water production system.

                - Regulation of motors by electronic speed variators.

                - Replacement of the existing low energy efficiency lighting system with a high energy efficiency LED system.

                - Boiler performance improvement by burner replacement and heat recovery.

                - Recovery of residual heat.
