The regulation of 12 December 2012 sets up a new financial aid scheme called "PRIMe House €. The regulation went into force on 1 January 2013 superseding regulation in force between 2008 and 2012.Scheme provides financial support in form of grants for projects aiming to improve energy savings and usage of renewable energy sources in the building sector. Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners
The Energy Commission of Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and with financial backing from the Clean Cooling Collaborative (CCC), has been spearheading the Scaling up Energy-Efficient and Climate-Friendly Cooling project since 2022. To advance this initiative, the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially approved and implemented the new Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners.

The Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDEA) expanded the budget for the Aid Program for energy efficiency actions in SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector.
