Energy Labelling of Smaller Buildings
…present energy conditions with recommendations for possible energy saving measures in the building shell and heating equipment. When dealing in real estate, an audit is required if the building has an area of 1 500 m2 or less. The result of the audit is an Energy Label describing the energy condition on a scale from A1 to C5 (A1 is best). Heating, electricity and water consumption are rated on the basis of a standard calculation, not actual consumption, because it is linked to the particular sellers household (number of persons and behaviour). Another part of the audit is an Energy…

Energy performance contracts
…to the public sector, as it allows public entities and state-owned companies to invest in energy efficient technologies and/or renewables at limited cost. Indeed, no or little upfront investment is usually required from the customer, as the investor takes upon itself some of the key project risks and gets paid from the energy savings made by the customer. The energy performance contract, as a new type of contract, should be particularly attractive to the public sector, as it allows public entities and state-owned companies to invest in energy efficient technologies and/or renewables at limited cost. Indeed…

Advanced Energy Design Guides (AEDG)
The Advanced Energy Design Guides (AEDG) are a series of publications designed to provide prescriptive solutions for achieving energy savings of 50% below the minimum code requirements (ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004). The guides have been developed by a collaboration of DOE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Institute of Architects, U.S. Green Building Council, and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES). The previous series of guides to achieve 30% savings (based on ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1999) is available for small office buildings, small retail buildings…

Energy Audit Programme
…implementation of energy efficiency agreements to figure out energy savings measures and energy savings potentials.Energy audit subsidies for service buildings and of industrial and energy production facilities have been granted since 1992. The actual energy audit programme started in 1994. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy (MEE) provides subsidies for carrying out the energy auditing of the commercial and public buildings and industrial and energy sectors (since 2014 according to the restrictions based on EED Article 8 mandatory energy audits for large companies). The MEE also supports municipalities to carry out audits concerning promotion of renewable energy use…

Energy Efficiency Best Practice (EEBP) programme
…1998 to 2003 and focused on identifying energy efficiency best practice in industry through innovation and capacity building. Funding for the programme concluded on 30 June 2003. However, various resources for EEBP, including information packages, methodologies, and case studies remain available. These document the processes used and savings achieved in participating industry sectors. A major achievement of the programme was the development and trialling of two innovative approaches to build the capacity of businesses to identify, implement and achieve energy savings in new plants and/or processes. These Innovation, Training and Benchmarking projects - Big Energy Projects (BEP) and Best Practice…

National Energy Saving Programme
The programme was established to replace the energy portion of the Széchenyi Plan. The National Energy Savings Programme (NEP) NEP-2003-6 targets municipalities and individuals and NEP-2003-7 targets entrepreneurs and provides subsidies for renewable energy investments to replace conventional energy sources, reduce environmental pollution and adapt to the energy policy of the European Union. The budget for NEP-6 was HUF 140 million and HUF 180 million for NEP-7. In 2004, NEP 2004-5 (municipalities and individuals) and NEP 2004-6 (for entrepreneurs) offers grants for renewable energy investments, with budgets of 100 million HUF per…

Prokilowatt: energy efficiency call for tenders
…production and feed-in tariffs that help financing selected energy efficiency measures that would not pay for themselves purely through energy savings. Since 2010, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy has launched a series of calls for projects and programmes for more efficient use of electricity in industry and households‚ with a budget up to Swiss francs (CHF) 50 million. Companies and organisations may apply for the implementation of efficiency measures within the scope of an annual call for tenders. The main criterion is the cost-benefit ratio defined as the amount of promotion funding per unit of saved energy…

New Green Savings Programme
The New Green Savings Programme of the Ministry of the Environment is administered by the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, towards energy savings in family houses and apartment buildings. The main objective of the programme is to improve the state of the environment by reducing the production of pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions (in particular CO2 emissions). The programme supports: - Renovation of family houses and apartment buildings (thermal insulation of facade, roof and ceiling, replacement of windows and doors) - Construction of family houses and apartment buildings in so-called passive standard (passive houses) - Solar thermal and photovoltaic systems…
