…will be lowered to the minimum rate allowed by the EU. The industrial energy tax rebate system will be abolished over a four-year transition period, ending companies' entitlement to energy tax rebates in 2025. The existing energy subsidies will support the industry's transition to emission-free technologies during and after the transition period. - Taxation on heating fuels, such as coal, natural gas and fuel oil, will be increased by EUR 105 million net from the beginning of 2021. A price floor mechanism will be introduced in peat taxation in 2022 which, together with the emission allowance pricing…

Law on Air Pollution Prevention and Control
…air pollution, safeguarding public health, promoting the ecological infrastructure development and facilitating sustainable economic and society growth. It comprehensively addresses China's air pollution prevention and control of air pollution from coal and industrial activities as well as other pollution sources. It also promotes joint regional air pollution prevention and control to collaborate efforts to reduce air pollutants such as volatile organic compounds and greenhouse gases. The regulation directs the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, as well as environmental agencies and bureaus of the local government to formulate air quality standards and air pollutant emissions standards in their jurisdictions, respectively…

When a company sells heating oil, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, coal, petrol or diesel, it will need one certificate for every tonne CO2 emitted by the products they sell. The fixed price will initially be EUR 10 per tonne CO2, and will rise to EUR 35 per tonne by 2025. This gives all stakeholders a reliable basis on which to plan. As of 2026, the market will set…

Energy Policy of Poland until 2040 (PEP2040)
…a zero-emissions system based on innovation, sustainable economic growth, increased efficiency and competition. The final key driver is the improved air quality, tackling a major problem throughout the country. Achieving these goals should be measured in the 2030 perspective by: (I) a maximum 56% share of coal-fired power generation (with a conservatively estimated exit date of 2049); (II) a minimum 23% of renewable electricity in final consumption (32% in power generation, 14% in transport); (III) nuclear power generation joining the mix by 2033; (IV) reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 30% (against 1990 levels); (V) reducing primary energy…

…and 46.5%, respectively, from 2018 levels by 2030. For the energy sector, the methane reduction plan identifies several actions, including reducing consumption fossil fuels by reducing coal and LNG power generation and improving energy efficiency. The plan notes that Korea will work towards calculating natural gas fugitive emissions based on country-specific emissions factors rather than default factors. The plan requires relevant ministries to prepare a 2030 implementation plan that takes these targets into account. The government further committed to actively work together with key partners on methane, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union…

…carbon strategy is currently being modified to become more ambitious. The initial document included cross-sectoral measures for GHG emissions reduction (energy and resource efficiency, best available technologies etc) and an increase of their sequestration by natural systems.Under the new strategy - to be approved by the cabinet - Russia aims to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 79% by 2050 in an "intensive" scenario which serves as its base case. The plan includes shifting electric power generation from coal-based power plants to gas turbines, nuclear, hydroelectric and renewable power facilities. The adoption of the plan also aims to slow the…

Notice on pilot programmes for locally consumed renewable energy power
National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) launched pilot projects supporting locally consumed renewable energy in Gansu province and Inner Mongolia. These provinces have substantial wind and solar resources and rapidly growing renewable generation capacity, but they have suffered from severe curtailment problems. By means of local consumed renewable energy, new energy power directly trade with coal-fire, renewable energy priority power generation and some incentive mechanism related to encourage renewable energy integration.
