Supplementary Notice of the Interim Administration: Measures for Special Funds of Renewable Energy Development
An initial version of the Measures for Special Funds of Renewable Energy Development came into effect in April 2015. In June 2019, the Ministry of Finance published a supplementary notice providing revised guidance regarding related subsidies. The supplementary notice supports the development of unconventional natural gas, including coalbed methane, coal mine methane, shale gas and tight gas. As of 2018, the standard subsidy was 0.3 Yuan/m3. Starting from 2019, subsidies will no longer be provided according to this fixed standard. In accordance with the principle of "grow more, subsidize more", for those who exceed the amount of extraction…

(Colorado) House Bill 19-1261 Climate Action Plan to Reduce Pollution
…hexafluoride, calculated in carbon dioxide equivalent terms. As a result, the Government of Colorado developed the comprehensive Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap with the same GHG reduction targets listed. The Roadmap targets methane emissions in the oil and gas industry, landfills, sewage treatment plants, coal mines, and other sources. It specifically calls the Air Quality Control Commission to implement rules to achieve 33% methane emissions reduction by 2025 and 50% by 2030 from the oil and gas industry. In addition, it also confirms a 7-million-ton annual CO2e emissions reduction is needed to reach the 2030 GHG reductions goal.

Capacity Investment Scheme
The Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) provides a national framework to encourage new investment in renewable capacity, such as wind and solar, as well as clean dispatchable capacity, such as battery storage. It aims to help build a more reliable, affordable and low-emissions energy system for all. The CIS involves the Australian Government seeking competitive tender bids for renewable capacity and clean dispatchable capacity projects to deliver an additional 32 GW of capacity by 2030, fill expected reliability gaps as ageing coal power stations exit, and deliver the Australian Government’s 82% renewable electricity by 2030 target.

…Resources Canada (NRCan) offers funding to mining companies pursuing energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction through the Toward Sustainable Mining (TSM) standard. The TSM standard is an internationally recognized sustainability initiative of the Mining Association of Canada, a national industry association whose members account for the majority of Canada’s production of base and precious metals, uranium, diamonds, metallurgical coal and mined oil sands. The standard includes the following seven protocols that mining companies use to measure and publicly report their performance: 1) Biodiversity Conservation Management, 2) Climate Change, 3) Indigenous and Community Relationships, 4) Preventing Child and Forced Labour…

…and Jobs Act (IIJA) - also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) - to advance clean energy demonstration projects on current and former mine lands. Deploying clean energy projects in mining communities across the nation is key to strengthening rural economies, creating new, good-paying jobs, and reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions that jeopardise public health and pollute local ecosystems. The funding also builds on the more than $14 billion whole-of-government effort by President Biden’s Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities to deliver new economic opportunities to communities hit hardest by our evolving energy landscape.
