Special Act on National Resources Security
This Act sets the policy framework for resource security, expanding the scope of critical materials to petroleum, natural gas, coal, uranium, hydrogen and core minerals. It notably includes stockpiling requirements for each of these key resources, and private supply institutions among the reserve obligation institutions may, if they reach an agreement with a public supply institution, delegate all or part of the obligation. The Act also requires a 5-yearly Basic Plan for Resource Security which can include strategies for securing gas to respond to global climate change efforts.

Infrastructure and Jobs act: Low carbon power
Provisions from the Infrastructure and Jobs Act pertaining to low carbon power encompass incentives for hydroelectric power (budget of USD 763 million) and building low carbon power in communities where coal power plants have closed (budget of USD 750 million). In May 2024, the US government allocated USD 71 million in grants (of which USD 16 million from the amounts enacted in the framework of the the Infrastructure and Jobs Act) to R&D and demonstration projects intended to develop domestic solar energy technology manufacturing capacities solar energy supply chain.

Development of village electricity networks and community gas networks
The budget for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has been set at USD 1.3 million (21.67 billion Indonesian rupiah) for the 2026 financial year; it will be used for the development of the town gas network, oil, gas and coal exploration activities, and the programme aimed at increasing the electrification rate.

Resolution 286 on pricing of greenhouse gas emissions
The government of Israel announced the plan to introduce a carbon tax at slowly increasing level from 2023 to 2028 through a statement approved by the Tax Authority and the Finance, Energy, Environmental Protection and Economy ministries. The nation’s first carbon tax will be applied to coal, liquified petroleum gas, fuel oil, petcoke and gas and is expected to cover about 80% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2028. Energy Decree 2026 - Structural intervention is needed to reduce business bills
The Energy Decree 2026 provides the legislative framework to reduce energy prices for households and firms in Italy. Main measures includes: Temporary contributions of EUR 115 to low-income households against electricity price rise. The decommissioning of coal-fired power plants extended to 2038. Cuts in incentives for photovoltaic systems, biogas and biomass, favouring long-term renewable energy contracts for businesses. Faster authorisation procedures for data centres.The Decree also mentions its will at the European level to separate the cost of the EU ETS from the pricing of renewable energy, such as hydroelectric or solar, to lower costs.

Act on the Promotion of the Use of Renewable Energy Sources
The Act states the installation and use of boilers that run on fuel oil, mazut, and coal to be prohibited, except where their use is part of an industrial or production process.Investors who apply for building permits after 1 January 2025 shall not be allowed to install natural gas or heating oil boilers.
