Methane Regulator-to-Regulator Network (MR2R) - Inaugural Plenary Meeting
Add to calendar
The IEA and UNEP’s Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) are hosting the inaugural plenary meeting of the Methane Regulator-to-Regulator (MR2R) Network at the IEA Headquarters.
As countries move to deliver on Global Methane Pledge commitments and respond to expectations for near zero methane intensity marketplaces, regulators are increasingly being called upon to implement new regulatory frameworks for methane abatement. The MR2R Network has been created to be a trusted, closed-door environment for regulators to connect with peers, share real-world experiences, and co-develop solutions to shared challenges.
The Network builds on the series of IEA regional roundtables on Turning Methane Pledges into Action and the CCAC’s continuing engagement with jurisdictions on fossil fuel methane abatement, including as part of the Fossil Fuel Regulatory Programme.
The inaugural plenary meeting of the Network is designed to move beyond high-level commitments into the practical business case and enforcement reality of methane action.
Attendees will include technical experts from regulatory agencies in jurisdictions working on fossil fuel methane, along with subject matter experts from international partners such as IMEO, CATF, EDF, and others.
