Act on product standards for the integration of energy from renewable sources into fossil fuels intended for the transport sector
The act sets standards for the blending of renewable sources in the fuel industry, and regulates the volume of biofuels on the market.From 2024 onwards, the total quantity of diesel or gasoline that each oil company annually releases for consumption shall contain at least 5.7 % biofuels.

The Act on the Quality Control of Gasoline and Other Fuels sets emissions standards and biofuel blending regulation to Japan's legal framework. It notably mandates a 10 % blending of bioethenol for gasoline, and below 5% of FAME for diesel.
