Package to tackle the energy price crisis
In an effort to cushion domestic consumers from the effects of the global energy crisis, the Swedish government has enacted the following measures as an amendment to its 2022 budget: The tax on diesel and petrol is temporarily reduced from June to October 2022. A new fuel compensation is introduced for private individuals. Funding for energy efficiency improvements and renovation of apartment buildings and outdoor environments. Additional funds are allocated to the climate bonus appropriation incentivising the purchase of electric vehicles. The GDP indexation of diesel and petrol is paused.

Temporary reduction in fuel duties
In response to the global energy crisis, the UK government temporarily reduced rates of Fuel Duty for 12 months, from end March 2022.This includes cutting rates for diesel and unleaded and leaded petrol by GBP 0.05 per litre, with a proportionate percentage cut (equivalent to GBP 0.05 per litre from the main fuel duty rate of GBP 0.5795 per litre) in other lower rates and the rates for rebated fuels, where practical.

VAT reduction on fuels for November 2022
Reduction in excise tax on fuels starting from 4 November 2022 and until 18 November 2022. For petrol, this reduction is equivalent to EUR 0.478/litre, for oils from gas or diesel this is equivalent to EUR 0.367/litre, and for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) used as fuel there is a reduction of EUR 0.18261/kg.

Law on Energy from Renewable Sources
The Law on Energy from Renewable Sources establishes the legal basis for the regulation, supervision and control of renewable energy sources in Lithuania. The law was lastly revised in 2023 to notably update biofuel blending mandates up to 6.6% in petrol and 6.2% in diesel.

2022 & 2023 fuel subsidy scheme- Petroleum Development Levy Fund.
In an effort to cushion domestic consumers from the impacts of the international energy price crisis, the Kenyan government earmarked KSh 6.7 billion for petrol and diesel subsidy for fiscal year 2021/22. The fuel subsidy scheme is administered under the Petroleum Development Levy Fund.

Consumer support package
The Thai government implemented ten support measures to soften the effects of energy price rise for the most vulnerable consumers, of which:- Diesel retail price to be capped at THB 30/litre, through an excise tax reduction. This document sets out the general framework for the storage of oil and petroleum products in Mexico. The minimum storage policy is mandatory for marketing and distribution permit holders that sell gasoline , diesel and jet fuel to service stations or end users. Law regarding the promotion of the production and use of biofuels and other renewable fuels for transport
The law sets the regulatory framework for the reduction of emissions in the transport sector. It notably sets a gradual increase in mandate for biofuel blending requirement in gasoline in diesel between 2011 and 2015. From 2015 onwards, a mandate of 10% is enforced.

Act on biocomponents and liquid biofuels
The act sets regulations and standards for the use of biofuel in the transport sector. The minimum share of biocomponent stated in the Act is 3.2% in gasoline oil and 5.2% in diesel oil.
