                Energy Grant "Energy Savings Boost"

The energy grant "coup de pouce économies énergie" applies to households energy saving spendings, including building insulation, as well as replacement of coal, oil and non-condensing gas boilers by renewable energy equipment.

The work or equipment installations has to be done by a certified installer ("reconnu garant environnement")

The amount of the grant depends on household income levels.

The grant is distributed by energy providers and partner companies, signatories of the charte "Coup de pouce"

The scheme, originally schedulled for one year, has been extended and widened in January 2019 to include heating equipments.

                Applications for the grant are…

                The Energy Savings Trust

The Energy Saving Trust was established as part of the government's response to the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The Energy Saving Trust helps citizens cut their carbon dioxide emission by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy in the home as well as in transport. The Trust no longer receives direct grants from Government and operates as a social enterprise with a charitable Foundation.

…Utilities Service (RUS) provides Rural Energy Savings Program (RESP) loans to eligible entities that agree to, in turn, make loans to qualified consumers for the purpose of implementing energy efficiency measures. These loans are made available under the authority of section 6407 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (7 U. S.C. 8107a)(Section 6407). Eligible energy efficiency measures funded under RESP must be for or at a property or properties served by an RESP Borrower, using commercially available technologies that would allow qualified consumers to decrease their energy use or costs through cost-effective measures…

                Federal Energy Savings Performance Contracting

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides agencies with expert assistance, guidance, and training to help them implement ESPC projects that are technically excellent, legally sound, and a good deal for the government. FEMP's activity in this area stems from the legislation that authorizes federal ESPCs, which also made FEMP the federal organization responsible for creating and providing services to enable all agencies to implement successful ESPC projects.

…up to GBP 350 million of efficiency measures. CESP promoted a "whole house" approach i.e. a package of energy efficiency measures best suited to the individual property. The programme was delivered through the development of community-based partnerships between Local Authorities (LAs), community groups and energy companies, via a house-by-house, street-by-street approach. This partnership working allowed CESP to be implemented in a way that was best suited to individual areas and co-ordinated with other local and national initiatives. CESP commenced on 1 September 2009 and ended in 2012, superseded by the Energy Company Obligation.

                Austria

Austria is committed to reaching climate neutrality by 2040. Over three quarter of electricity generation already comes from renewables, with a target of achieving a 100% renewable electricity supply by 2030 (national balance). This requires investments to make networks more resilient and flexible, optimise demand side management, and updating the legal and regulatory framework to allow more consumer participation. Buildings and transport account for around half of total emissions . To progress the transition in these sectors, the government supports building renovation, switching from fossil fuels to sustainable heating systems, the electrification of transport and invests in public transport infrastructure.

The subsidy will focus on energy renovations in regional and municipal buildings with the lowest energy performance certificate standards (D-G) as well as buildings that are heated by oil burners and gas furnaces. It is estimated that the effort can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 0.004 Mt CO2e in 2025 and 2030.
