                Energy Resource Governance Initiative

                The Energy Resource Governance Initiative (ERGI) was founded in 2019 by the governments of Australia, Botswana, Canada, Peru and the United States with the goal of of sourcing and disseminating best practices across the international mining sector.                 The information sheet and associated standards database has been prepared to provide guidance on Australian and international codes and standards suitable for gaseous and liquid hydrogen refuelling stations.

                This information sheet:
                1. Identifies typical activities and equipment used;
                2. Relevant Australian and international standards and codes;
                3. A list of key safety regulators that may regulate activities; and
                4. Future adoptions and developments for Australia.

                The database provides a comprehensive list of standards associated with all stages of the design, construction, testing, operation and decommissioning of a hydrogen refuelling station.

                The Corporations Act 2001 is the framework legislation for the regulation of businesses in Australia, ensuring uniformity across the States and Territories. The Act regulates company formation, shares and voting, corporate governance, director's duties, takeovers and insolvency. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is charged with general administration of the Act.
