DOE funding for small businesses to invest in clean energy research and development
…part of the Net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, USD 105 million of funding will support research opportunities for underrepresented communities and small businesses working on climate change solutions including women and those from socially and economically disadvantaged communities. The projects focus on the field of energy technology and sustainable agriculture to atmospheric monitoring and carbon removal. Recently developed technologies include measurement of nanoscale chemical interactions, automation of optical connectivity in advanced data centres, and measurement of atmospheric aerosols for climate research. This funding is administered by DOE’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBTT)…

Integrated resource plan (2025)
The plan outlines a USD 121 billion (R2.23 trillion) investment plan to drive the government's effort to grow the economy and transition toward a Net Zero electricity sector by 2050. It plans to increase renewables from approximately 17 GW to more than 45 GW by 2030, to anticipate a phased decline of the coal fleet from 42 GW in 2024 to 28 GW by 2034 and to connect new generation source by 14,494 km of new lines by 2034.

Norwegian Hydrogen Strategy
Presented by the Minister for Petroleum and Energy and the Minister for Climate and Environment in June 2020, the Norwegian Hydrogen Strategy lays the foundation for the future work on hydrogen in Norway and contributes to the development of low emissions technologies for the greenhouse gases reduction goal. The strategy defines how clean hydrogen will be produced and the sectors of the economy where this energy carrier is going to contribute more to decarbonisation. Focus is posed on industrial processes and the heavy transport, with the maritime sector in particular, where the country is already committed in investments and research…

National Emissions Allowance Allocation Plan - Phase 4 (2026-2030)
…emissions trading scheme by setting a total emissions cap of approximately 2.54 GtCO₂e over the period and introducing differentiated annual reduction rates across sectors. The plan increases the share of auctioned allowances, with the power sector reaching up to 50% auctioning by 2030, while maintaining full free allocation for emissions-intensive trade-exposed industries. It also introduces a Korean Market Stability Reserve (K-MSR) to manage allowance supply and improve market stability. The scheme remains the central economy-wide carbon pricing instrument and is aligned with Korea’s enhanced 2030 emissions reduction target and long-term carbon neutrality pathway.

The Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS)
The Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) was launched in 2009 and subsequently updated in 2010 and 2013. The strategy aims to transform Guyana’s electricity sector from nearly 100% fossil fuel based to nearly 100% renewable energy based. The achievement of this objective is based on the development of the 165MW Amaila hydropower project, as well as a 20MW biomass (sugarcane bagasse) cogeneration plant. These projects were included in the 2013 Guyana’s state-owned utility (GPL) Development and Expansion Programme 2013-2017.
Low carbon measures have also been introduced into the taxation system. The Government has removed applicable taxes…
