Norwegian Hydrogen Strategy
Presented by the Minister for Petroleum and Energy and the Minister for Climate and Environment in June 2020, the Norwegian Hydrogen Strategy lays the foundation for the future work on hydrogen in Norway and contributes to the development of low emissions technologies for the greenhouse gases reduction goal. The strategy defines how clean hydrogen will be produced and the sectors of the economy where this energy carrier is going to contribute more to decarbonisation. Focus is posed on industrial processes and the heavy transport, with the maritime sector in particular, where the country is already committed in investments and research. It highlights also the importance of international collaboration both for the development of the technologies needed and for the establishment of a functioning market.
