Colombia's Short-Lived Climate Pollutants Strategy
Colombia's Short-Lived Climate Pollutants Strategy is part of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition's (CCAC) “Support for National Action Planning” initiative. This strategy identifies actions towards addressing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCP) and that should be addressed through the planning and implementation of domestic policies. As part of the actions to the mitigation of SLCP, the oil and gas and mining sector are included. Concrete actions are: 1. To recover, use and oxidize methane from coal mines2. To recover and use the gas and fugitive emissions during the production of oil and gas3. To reduce the leaks…

…With cost-sharing, the total public-private investment will total nearly USD 6.6 million. Twelve CSP projects were selected for negotiation of awards. Projects categories include: (1) thermal storage; (2) trough component manufacturing; and (3) advanced CSP systems and/or components. These projects aim to develop technology that dramatically reduces the cost of CSP power and emphasises the development of storage technologies. Specifically, CSP project goals include reducing the cost of solar power to be regularly available at less USD 10 cents/kWh by 2015. The Solar America Initiative ended in 2009 when its objectives became integrated with the…

National Hydrogen Strategy
Draft strategy was open to public consultation from February to March 2025. The strategy showcases some scenarios for hydrogen development to 2050 with 2030 milestones. The scenarios are based on fixed technology penetrations by sector. Total investment needs are EUR 2.4 billion by 2030 and EUR 6.8 billion by 2050 for the ambitious scenario, while the conservative scenario has an investment of EUR 170 million by 2050. The 2030 plan covers 3 areas. Legislative framework; Communication and training; and Development of heavy-duty trucks and bus fleets. The strategy proposes actions for the first two areas: First, a…
