Carbon Reduction Programmes
Four new carbon projects were announced in April and May 2014. Biofuels Energy Technology Platform
…to achieve the goals outlined in the Biofuels Research Advisory Councils 2006 Vision Report. It also acts as a source of information and opinion on the development of biofuels for transport in the EU. The SRA/SDD was launched at the First Stakeholder Plenary Meeting in Brussels on 31 January 2008. The Biofuels TP is managed by a Steering Committee supported by a secretariat, and its main objectives are achieved through five working groups. These comprise three technology driver vertical working groups covering resources, conversion and end-use, plus two horizontal working groups dealing with markets & legislation and sustainability.

IEA supports Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy in developing a national energy data strategy

National Hydrogen Strategy
Draft strategy was open to public consultation from February to March 2025. The strategy showcases some scenarios for hydrogen development to 2050 with 2030 milestones. The scenarios are based on fixed technology penetrations by sector. Total investment needs are EUR 2.4 billion by 2030 and EUR 6.8 billion by 2050 for the ambitious scenario, while the conservative scenario has an investment of EUR 170 million by 2050. Clean Technology Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit
The Clean Technology Manufacturing investment tax credit provides a refundable 30% tax credit for investments in manufacturing and processing of clean technologies by providing support for new machinery and equipment used in the production and processing of clean technologies, as well as the extraction, processing, or recycling of critical minerals, manufacturing of zero-emission vehicles and grid-scale electrical energy storage facilities, manufacturing of renewable or nuclear energy equipment; and processing or recycling of nuclear fuels and heavy water. Canada's 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)
Canada’s 2035 NDC commits to reducing emissions by 45-50% below 2005 levels by 2035. This builds on the 2030 target of 40-45% below 2005 levels.
