Research for energy efficiency and renewable energy in urban areas
The Ministry of Environment is using funding provided for the promotion and dissemination of interventions to improve efficiency and energy savings for electricity and heat from renewable sources, and in particular for the development of solar thermal, to fund research projects targeting energy efficiency and renewable energy in urban areas. Energy Efficiency Improvement Target for Public Buildings
As per Presidential Decree dated 16 August 2019 it is required that the public buildings with energy managers assigned according to the Energy Efficiency Law no. 5627 (Buildings having more than 10.000 m² area or 250 TOE/an. energy consumption) save 15% energy until 2023 in order to use public resources efficiently and to reduce the burden of energy costs on the public sector.
“Saving Target and Implementation Guide in Public Buildings” is published on website of The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
In 2019 energy savings amount to 12,875 toe achieved in public buildings. -

The EU Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU)

Victorian Energy Upgrades Program (Previously the VEET scheme)
Established by the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act on 11 December 2007, the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program (previously the Victoria Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme) is an energy efficiency obligation progamme requiring energy retailers to achieve a set level of energy savings, and surrender 'white certificates' to the program regulator as proof, with one certificate equivalent to 1 tonne of CO2 abated. Obligated parties can also purchase white certificates from specialist third party certificate providers via private bilateral contracts and public spot market.

National Energy Efficiency Action Plan 2 (2009 - 2020)
