Arkansas Energy Efficiency Obligation
…year for measurement is 2013. The target for electric utilities is 0.90% of 2013 sales, and the target for natural gas utilities is 0.50% of 2013 sales. In 2018, the PSC adoped higher savings targets, raising the targets to 1.2% of baseline sales for electric utilities and 0.5% of baseline sales for natural gas utilities. Eligible energy efficiency measures include education, audits, heating systems, lighting, demand response, insulation, HVAC, and motors. Calculation of measures is based on deemed and metered savings. All programmes are subject to annual evaluation, measurement, and verification. Each utility employs a third…

Wisconsin Energy Efficiency Obligation
…Wisconsin introduced an energy efficiency obligation for all sectors, covering electricity and gas. Obligated parties include electricity and natural gas utilities. The obligation seeks to achieve an energy savings per year of 1 063 GWh. The most recent Quadrennial Planning Process revised the energy efficiency goals for the 2015-2018 period. An October 2015 Order issued by the WPSC set the overall 4-year goal at 268,659,142 million British thermal units (MMBtu), the kilowatt-hour goal at 32,197,088,735, and the therm goal at 1,588,026,749. The current number of energy efficiency measures in…

Energy Efficiency Measures - Private Legal Entities
The Energy Efficiency Measures, Private Legal Entities policy is designed to incentivize implementation of energy efficient measures. Under the Climate Change Programme 2020, companies and businesses are invited to apply for energy efficiency measures under their energy audit report, which would grant them compensation from the government for the lighting, heating systems, technological process equipment. The total budget allocated for this policy is 13 million EUR. The maximum amount of compensatory allowance per applicant is 200 000 EUR, with the applicant's minimum energy savings at 10 MWh/year.

US “Apps for Energy” competition
In 2012, as part of the US government’s efforts to promote energy savings, the US Department of Energy launched the first-ever “Apps for Energy” challenge. The programme offered USD 100 000 in cash prices to software developers that build applications for mobile phones and computers that use data provided by major utilities to help consumers consume less energy and save money. The competition stemmed from the government’s Green Button initiative, under which nine large electricity suppliers agreed to provide over 15 million households access to energy consumption data. The winners were evaluated by a multi stakeholder panel…
