EFEKT - State programme to promote energy savings and use of renewable and secondary energy sources
…programme for the energy management and the use of renewable sources of energy". In the past, 15 sectors were involved. Nowadays, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the only programme administrator. The Call for applications is revised each year. Applicants include enterprises (legal entities and individuals), non-profit organisations, universities, regions, towns and municipalities. Programme targets include the implementation of savings measures in the areas of generation, transmission, distribution and consumption of energy; and higher use of renewable and secondary sources of energy and the development of cogeneration of heat, cooling and electricity.Support for energy planning and certification…

Training Programme for Specialists in Electric Energy Savings
In order to promote and expand energy efficiency projects, FIDE, the CFE and various higher education and research centres, have developed a programme to train Specialists in Electric Energy Savings. The Programme plans to train 50 specialists for each state, with an aim of having 1600 trained consultants per region, with the ability to promote up to 9600 projects per year.

…and energy-efficient equipment, as well as energy performance evaluation and advice services (required for undertaking refurbishment). The incentives take the form of grants, up to a maximum amount.
These include subsidies for various renewable energy sources, such as solar thermal and solarphotovoltaic systems (30-50% of the cost up to a specific maximum amount), geothermal heat (40-50%), and biomass heaters (25-30%).
Condesing boilers are also subsidised between EUR 80 and EUR 600.
In addition, micro cogeneration fueled by renewable energy sources is subsidised up to 25%, while connection to a heating source fueled 75% by renewable energy… -

Armenia
Imports of oil and gas cover 77% of Armenia’s energy needs. Current energy policy is focused on developing indigenous energy sources, mainly renewable, and on replacing the country’s main nuclear reactor. Energy Efficiency policy has also become a bigger priority as energy security and reliability remain key focus areas. Armenia is part of the EU4Energy Programme, an initiative focused on evidence-based policymaking for the energy sector.

Uzbekistan
Despite being energy self-sufficient thanks to its gas sector, Uzbekistan's ageing infrastructure struggles to meet growing domestic demand. Losses, overuse and financing remain problematic. Wide-ranging reforms focused on improving and diversification the energy sector are being introduced and the government has adopted the Strategy of Actions 2017-2021, which prioritizes improving energy efficiency and increasing generating capacity and use of renewables. Uzbekistan is part of the EU4Energy Programme, an initiative focused on evidence-based policymaking for the energy sector.

Ireland
…electricity generation by 2030, but now their implementation needs to accelerate. Natural gas will remain an important part of the energy mix at least until the mid-2030s, especially to meet peak electricity demand, but offshore renewable energy will become the cornerstone of Ireland’s energy transition beyond 2030. Given Ireland’s current exclusive reliance on energy imports from the United Kingdom, energy security is a major concern to the government while transitioning to a (variable) renewables-based energy system and advancing the electrification of the heating and transport sectors to meet the ambitious climate targets to 2030 and beyond.

Slovak Republic
…objectives of the Slovak energy policy agenda are: increasing efficiency in the power and end‐use sectors, reducing energy intensity, reducing dependence on energy imports, expanding the use of nuclear power, increasing the share of renewables in the heat and electricity sectors, and supporting the use of alternative fuels for transport. With these sound objectives in place, the government should now focus on the cost‐effective implementation of concrete actions. Mining of coal for electricity production ended in 2023 and an additional nuclear unit was commissioned. The country remains dependent on energy imports from Russia, making energy security a strong…

Morocco
…affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7). The government has achieved almost full access to electricity for its rural population, and it is developing the country’s significant renewable energy resources. However, progress in reducing the energy intensity of Morocco’s economy is more difficult to achieve. While the share of renewables in electricity is progressing fast, its share in total final consumption (TFC) decreased considerably over the past decade, given the expanding energy demand. Morocco has only renewable energy targets for electricity. With a view to meet SDG 7…
