In the area of Nowcasting, the European Statistics Awards Programme aims to discover promising methodologies and potential external data sources that could, now or in the future, be used to improve the timeliness of key EU economic indicators, including oil, gas and electricity related indicators. In 2024 there was a new round for these three sectors, with a maximum prize equivalent to USD 5 500.

National Survey on Energetic Consumption in Private Households (2018)
The Secretariat of Energy (SENER) and The Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE), with the collaboration and support of the National Institute for Statistics (INEGI), developed the first National Survey for Energy Consumption in the Household Sector (ENCEVI).
The survey was intended to generate statistical information about the use patterns of various energy sources at the residential level, so as to get data about their management. The instrument was applied in the first, second and fourth trimester in 2018. First results were published in November 2018. -

National Energy Effciency Database
The National Energy Efficiency Data-Framework (NEED) was set up to provide a better understanding of energy use and energy efficiency in domestic and non-domestic buildings in Great Britain. The data framework matches gas and electricity consumption data, collected for BEIS sub-national energy consumption statistics, with information on energy efficiency measures installed in homes, from the Homes Energy Efficiency Database (HEED), Green Deal, the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Feed-in Tariff scheme. It also includes data about property attributes and household characteristics, obtained from a range of sources.

National portal on building energy performance
…2020, n. 48, which implements European Directive 2018/844/EU, introduces further indications for the promotion of the improvement of the energy performance of buildings, taking into account external local and climatic conditions, as well as the requirements relating to the climate of internal environments and the cost-effectiveness of the planned actions, optimising the ratio between costs and benefits for the community. This updated Decree, in Article 4-quater, introduces the National Portal on the energy performance of buildings. At present, the Portal provides an overview of ENEA statistics relating to the energy performance of buildings divided by year.
