The mega batteries transforming power systems
…This has helped reduce the cost of installing battery storage projects, which has dropped about 40% since 2024.
These price declines, along with policy support, have enabled the development of big parks full of mega batteries, which can store energy and dispatch it when power systems need it. This could be at night, when no solar power is available, or during a weather event that disrupts electricity generation.
