                Monthly Oil Price Statistics

IEA Energy Prices - Monthly Prices Excerpt This dataset is updated once a month and includes monthly end-user total prices for transport fuels in selected countries, based on the IEA Energy Prices database. The complete IEA Energy Prices database database provides end-user prices by sector (industry, household, transport, commercial, electricity generation) and 20 fuels and energy carriers, for 150 countries, with weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly data. OECD countries data also contain details on the end-use prices taxation breakdown whenever available or applicable. The Prices team would welcome any feedback or answer questions at Prices@iea.org.

Reliance on Russian Fossil Fuels in OECD and EU Countries

…from Russian imports The indicators are calculated as follows:Total relianceThis indicator is the ratio of Russian fossil fuel imports to total domestic consumption.Fuel reliance for total oil, coal, and natural gasThis indicator is the ratio of Russian imports to domestic fuel consumption. This indicator represents the importance of imports from Russia and is calculated for oil, natural gas and coal. Please note that these three indicators cannot be aggregated as they are computed on different basis (total energy supply for each fuel).Note that the annual shares shown here for oil may not correspond to the shares shown…

                Energy End-uses and Efficiency Indicators

Annual data from 2000 covering end-use energy consumption, now featuring end-use carbon emissions for the IEA member countries and beyond.
The data is updated twice a year, at the end of each semesters. The Energy End-uses and Efficiency Indicators database contains annual data from 2000 covering end use energy consumption by energy product, end use carbon emissions, associated indicators across four sectors of final consumption (industry, services, residential and transport) and energy decomposition analysis, to show the impact of different drivers (e.g. activity, structure and efficiency) on consumption trends, for the IEA member countries and beyond…

                Fossil Fuel Subsidies Database

Fossil fuel consumption subsidies for selected countries, 2010-2022 The IEA estimates subsidies to fossil fuels that are consumed directly by end-users or consumed as inputs to electricity generation (see explanation of the price-gap methodology).

                Solid biofuels consumption estimation model

The African continent accounts for about 50% of the solid biofuels consumed worldwide, with 82% of its inhabitants – or around 900 million people -- relying on it for heating and cooking. In sub-Saharan Africa alone, roughly 95% of the population depends on biomass in the form of fuelwood, charcoal and residues. Accurate data to measure solid biofuel’s share of the energy mix is key to developing policies and assessing sustainability goals. However, the continent suffers from systematic lack of data, with the reported figures often not harmonised across countries and collected from outdated surveys. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has…

The factors are computed using the life cycle emissions intensity corresponding to fossil fuels, uranium and biofuels fuel-cycles weighted by the respective shares of all fuels/technologies in the generation mix. The non-fuel cycle life cycle emissions and the direct emissions from combustion of the fuels at the…
