15th Five Year Plan

The 15th Five Year Plan (15th FYP) outlines the key directions and targets for China in the next five years. It notably includes: 

o   The headline goal of 17% reduction in carbon intensity and 10% energy intensity by 2030.

o   R&D investment growth target of over 7%.

o  Strengthened emphasis on science and technology self-reliance, prioritising breakthroughs in semiconductors, industrial software, advanced materials, biotechnology, AI, and hydrogen/nuclear fusion R&D.

o   A new push for new industries (quantum, 6G, hydrogen, fusion, embodied intelligence), with the aim to build long term competitiveness and reduce dependency.
