Australia has allocated AUD 8 billion for renewable hydrogen production

The AUD 8 billion for production support will cover: the Hydrogen Production Tax Incentive (AUD 6.7 billion over 10 years); additional funding for the Hydrogen Headstart program (AUD 1.3 billion over 10 years); funds to deliver the 2024 National Hydrogen Strategy (AUD 17 million over four years). Furthermore, renewable hydrogen will be supported through the Future Made in Australia Innovation fund which supports innovation, commercialization, pilot and demonstration projects, and early state development (AUD 1.7 billion over 10 years). AUD 11.4 million over four years will be used to fast track "the initial phase of the Guarantee of Origin Scheme for green hydrogen and bring forward work on green metals, including iron, steel and aluminum." AUD 10 million will be given in 2025–26 to establish a National Hydrogen Technology Skills Training Center to promote hydrogen workforce development.
