Canada Greener Homes Grants program

Launched in May 2021 and the first programme under the umbrella of the Canada Greener Homes Initiative, the Canada Greener Homes Grant programme was designed to help Canadian homeowners make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes and save on their monthly energy bills. The programme provided grants of up to USD 3,650 (CAD 5,000) for energy efficiency retrofits recommended by an energy advisor, such as heat pumps, windows and doors, insulation and air sealing and solar panels. In its final sunsetting phase, as of March 2026 the programme has issued approximately USD 1.3 billion (CAD 1.8 billion) in grants to over 410,000 homeowners.
