                Global Hydrogen Review 2025 DemandDemand

…the chemical sector lead the way in the adoption of low-emissions hydrogen. Based on projects that are operational, under construction or have reached final investment decision (FID), more than 2 Mtpa is expected to be consumed in refineries and industrial facilities by 2030. This could be complemented by additional supply provided by merchant projects. In road transport, heavy trucks remain the only fast-growing market for fuel cell electric vehicles, despite their higher total costs of ownership when compared to battery electric or diesel trucks. China remains the leader, with almost 95% of the world’s fuel cell commercial vehicles…

Sustainable Transport Policy for Armenia: A Roadmap Sustainable transport in ArmeniaSustainable transport in Armenia

…the total has held steady over this period. Rising demand for transport has driven higher fuel consumption. Energy demand in the transport sector Energy demand growth in Armenia’s transport sector is driven by increasing road activity, which is fuelled predominantly by natural gas. In 2023, natural gas accounted for half of Armenia’s total energy demand, followed by petrol (20%), diesel (14%) and liquid petroleum gas (13%). Natural gas is the dominant fuel in Armenia’s road transport sector, powering more than 70% of vehicles nationwide – and an even greater share in Yerevan. Most run on compressed natural gas …

Roadmap for the growth and development of Nigerian mining industry

To diversify economic activity and export composition, the government launched the Roadmap for Solid Minerals in 2016 with the purpose of increasing mining’s contribution to GDP to 10% by 2026. The plan is divided into three phases: rebuilding the market confidence and win over domestic users of imported industrial minerals; focussing on expanding domestic processing industry; and seeking to return to global markets and a market competitive price point.Even though not all of them are a direct result of the policy, currently, there are various incentives for the investment in the mining sector. One is the Tax Holiday…

Roadmap for Coal to Hydrogen production

The Prime Minister of India launched a Coal Gasification Mission, wit the objective to gasify 100 Mt coal by 2030. India wants to exploit its own resources, coal, instead of importing natural gas from other countries, to produce hydrogen which is an important feedstock for industrial processes.

Roadmap and guidelines for hydrogen in the energy sector

On January 29, 2024, “Department Circular No. DC2024-01-0001 Providing a National Policy and General Framework, Roadmap, and Guidelines for Hydrogen in the Energy Sector” was promulgated in the Philippines. The guidelines establish both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for hydrogen projects, including tax breaks, duty exemptions for equipment and materials, tax credits for domestic capital equipment and services, special incentives for projects using “green hydrogen” (defined as hydrogen produced via renewable-powered electrolysis, biogas reforming, or biochemical biomass conversion). The Circular mandates the creation of governance and oversight bodies, such as the Hydrogen Energy Industry Committee (HEIC) and…

Roadmap to net-zero carbon concrete by 2025

Canada’s Net-zero Carbon Concrete Roadmap, published in November 2022, was developed by an Industry-Government Working Group, co-led by the Cement Association of Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. The Roadmap charts the course to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the cement and concrete sector by 15 million tons by 2030 and achieving net-zero concrete by 2050. In the longer term, priority actions include, continuing to deploy clinker substitutes and alternative clinker technologies. Actions also include harnessing new energy sources such as biogenically-derived fuels, clean hydrogen and electricity, and utilizing innovations to…
