Community Batteries Funding Round 2
The October 2022 Federal Budget provided $200 million for the Community Batteries for Household Solar budget measure to deploy 400 community batteries across Australia. On 2025 ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) has realised $46.3 million to deploy community batteries across Australia under Community Batteries Funding Round 2 of the Community Batteries Funding Initiative.

National Industrial Transformation Program

National Energy Performance Strategy

Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC)
Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) is an initiative proposed by Japan in 2022 and launched by 11 countries (Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam) in 2023 to promote decarbonization in Asia. It provides a platform to support climate policy development, foster public-private partnerships, strengthen technological cooperation, and establish green industrial supply chains. Over 150 MOUs have been signed under the auspices of AZEC, including in relation to reduction of methane emissions from natural gas.

Equipment Energy Efficiency Program (E3)
The Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) program aims to increase the energy efficiency of appliances and equipment used in Australia and New Zealand. This is achieved through the delivery of an energy efficiency standards and labelling programm. The Australian labelling programme is based on a star system. The E3 program is implemented through the Greenhouse and Minimum Standards (GEMS) Act 2012. New Zealand is a partner in the E3 Program under a bilateral agreement with Australia.

Joint Statement on Accelerating Methane Mitigation from the LNG Value Chain
The United States, Republic of Korea, Australia, the European Commission and Japan signed this statement on the margins of the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference in Tokyo, Japan. The signatory parties affirmed their support for an internationally aligned voluntary approach for the measurement, monitoring, reporting and verification of methane emissions data across the international fossil fuel supply chain. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation's Critical Energy Minerals Roadmap is a strategy that aims to unlock the economic potential of Australia's energy minerals by creating and demonstrating breakthrough technologies.The roadmap identifies ways to take advantage of Australia's potential and connect mining, manufacturing and energy sectors. Specifically, the roadmap suggests the adoption of more streamlined policy and regulatory frameworks together with new technical and economic regulations designed to facilitate the extraction and processing of energy minerals as well as to encourage the deployment of relevant technologies, such as the recycling of permanent magnets.
