Agricultural Demand Side Management (AgDSM) Programme
…reduce the energy intensity of agriculture pumping sector by carrying out efficiency up gradation of agricultural pump sets. It is estimated that there are about 19 million pumpsets, and 2.5 to 5 lakh new pumpsets are being added every year. Unfortunately, these pumpsets are inefficient, largely because farmers have no incentive to invest in higher cost, higher efficiency pumpsets due to low electricity tariffs for agriculture consumers. This has resulted in increased annual subsidy burden on State governments which has grown to more than INR 65,000 crore per annum. Studies reveal that about 30%-40% energy savings is…

National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC)
The plan identifies eight core national missions running through 2017 and directed ministries to submit detailed implementation plans to the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change by December 2008.
National missions:
National Solar Mission
National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency
- Mandating specific energy consumption decreases in large energy-consuming industries, with a system for companies to trade energy-savings certificates;
- Energy incentives, including reduced taxes on energy-efficient appliances;
- Financing for public-private partnerships to reduce energy consumption through demand-side management programs in the municipal, buildings and agricultural sectors.

Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253
The Commission has assessed the technical, environmental and economic aspects of ventilation units. The assessment showed that ventilation units are placed on the Union market in large quantities. The energy consumption in the use phase is the most significant environmental aspect of ventilation units, presenting significant potential for cost-effective energy savings and greenhouse gas emission reduction.

Green Municipal Fund (GMF)
…construction projects aimed at energy efficiency. Municipalities are encouraged to consider Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) ® certification as they undertake building projects. For retrofits, projects must demonstrate the potential to reduce energy consumption by at least 30% compared to current performance. A minimum of 20% of these energy savings must come from energy efficiency measures and the remainder may come from renewable energy production (e.g. production of wind and solar energy). For new construction, projects must demonstrate an anticipated reduction in design energy consumption of at least 45% compared to the National Energy Code for Buildings…

Horizon 2020-Societal Challenge 3- market uptake projects and Other Actions (tenders)
Building capacity of private and public actors to create the right market & regulatory conditions and to mobilise investments in clean energy, this includes Project Development Assistance grants such as provided by ELENA (European Local Energy Assistance) ELENA Facility: In 2017, 32 M€ of grants have been allocated to projects for project development assistance. This EU support is expected to trigger investments of 1 345 M€, energy savings of 1 TWh, GHG reduction fo 316 000 tCO2 eq/y, 374 GWh of yearly RES production, and support more than 12 000 jobs.

Implementation of the CHP Directive
…useful heat demand in the internal energy market. It aims to increase energy efficiency and security of supply by creating a framework for the promotion and development of high efficiency cogeneration of heat and electricity based on useful heat demand and primary energy savings in the internal energy market. This law regulates the activity of cogeneration, establishing its legal status and remuneration. The tariff is based on two modalities, according to the choice of cogeneration, accessible to efficient cogeneration and high efficiency cogeneration. Incentives are provided based on three criteria: reduction of primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared with…

German Coal Aid Revolving Fund - Revision
…In 2000, the GCARF allocated more than HUF 1 billion in preferential credit for SMEs, which resulted in energy savings of 325 TJ per year and total investment of HUF 1.6 billion. In 2001, a total of HUF 0.89 billion was spent on renewable investments from preferential credit. In 2002, the amount of the preferential credit was increased to HUF 1.51 billion. A total investment of HUF 3.53 billion resulted in 1.04 PJ energy savings. Main fields of activity: energy conversion equipment, distribution networks and heating systems; district heating systems control and automation of technological…

Building Codes - Minimum thermal standards for buildings
Minimum thermal standards for buildings are defined in the Technical Construction Regulations of the Federal Provinces by way of U-values (=k-values) for different construction components although most Federal Provinces opened the possibility for a more flexible approach by defining certain energy demand codes for the whole building (per square metre). The definition of technical construction regulations above the standards defined in the 15a-Agreement on Energy Savings of 1995 on the basis of Article 15a of the Federal Constitution Act between the federation and the nine provinces are within the competence of the Federal Provinces. Almost all Federal…

Information/Technical Assistance
…Since the programmes inception in 1980, more than 550 companies were audited and impressive potentials for improving energy efficiency in industrial companies were identified. As ÖEKV also proposes concrete measures for improvement it is demonstrated to companies that the payback periods are in many cases less than two years. These audits are free of charge for the interested companies. From 1998 through 2001, this programme has worked with 89 companies. These audits have identified 171 GWh of annual energy savings potential, an amount equal to 8.1% of the firms total energy use. For the period from 1998 to 2000…
