Turkiye Ukraine Free Trade Agreement
In 2023, Turkiye and Ukraine agreed to ratify a Free Trade Agreement allowing duty-free or partially duty-free trade between the two countries. The Agreement is expected to enter into force in the first quarter of 2024. The two governments expressed their interest in the mutual expansion of various sectors including renewable energy, gas production and storage, green metallurgy, and environmentally friendly transport. Turkiye - Azerbaijan Interconnection Project
Turkiye-Azerbaijan Interconnection Project: Interconnection lines exist between Türkiye and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The Operational Agreement regarding these interconnection lines was signed between TEIAS and AzerEenerji on April 4, 2025. In addition, the development of a new interconnection line between Azerbaijan and Türkiye via the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is also on the agenda. Following discussions between the parties, it was decided that the final feasibility report would be completed in 2026. The project aims to contribute to Türkiye's energy supply security and carbon emission targets.
