                National Energy Policy 2009 is a response of the government of the Marshall Islands to rapid increase of oil prices in 2008 which in consequences caused economic crisis as its country’s energy sector is heavily dependant on fossil fuels imports.
                Main objective of the Policy is: “An improved quality of life for the people of the Marshall Islands through clean, reliable, affordable, accessible, environmentally appropriate and sustainable energy services.”

                The plan envisions a 15% - 20% share of renewable energy in 2020 in the total installed capacity, most of which will be used to advance rural renewable energy purposes. The preferred energy scenario shows energy generation mix of 57% hydropower, 30% coal, 8% natural gas and 5% solar and wind by 2030.

                On 30th of December 2016 National Energy Administration adopted China’s 13th Energy Technology Innovation Five Year Plan (2016-2020). China’s goal is to become energy superpower leading technological advancements in all energy technologies and aspects. The 13th Five Year Plan enlists key objectives for China to achieve by 2020.
                China aims to achieve advancements in renewable, fossil fuel and nuclear technologies as well as mini-grid, super-grids and smart-grids in order to increase country’s competitiveness in the energy sector internationally.

                Recovery and resilience plan / CTD / Energy efficiency in buildings/ Resource efficiency program in public administration 2030 (ECO.AP 2030)

                …efficiency program in public administration was nationally approved in November 2020. It is part of the component 13, energy efficiency in buildings, from the Climate Transition pillar of the recovery plan. The program sets the following targets for 2030: - 40% reduction in primary energy consumption- 10% of the energy consumption supplied by renewable self-consumption sources- 20% reduction in water consumption- 20% material reduction- Achieve an energy and water renovation rate of 5%  in buildings covered by ECO.AP The entities covered by this program have to elaborate every three years from 2021 an efficiency plan that helps achieve these targets.

                The Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan 2030 from Italy focuses over five main areas: decarbonization, energy efficiency and security, internal energy market development, research, innovation, and competitiveness. The plan targets a 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, a 30% increase in energy efficiency, and achieving 72% of electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2030. It also aims to enhance industrial competitiveness through research and innovation programs, including participation in European initiatives and Horizon Europe. The plan also encompasses circular economy strategies, support for biorefinery development, and measures for energy-intensive enterprises to facilitate the green transition.
