Wind Energy Forecasting Capability
…the development and installation of software and systems to allow accurate wind forecasting and promote wind energy in the national electricity market. Implementation of forecasting systems assists market management and improves strategic planning for wind farms. The Australian Wind Energy Forecasting System (AWEFS) is a centralised system that will provide predictions of wind energy generation compatible with the Australian Energy Market Operators (AEMOs) network management systems. It takes weather forecasts from meteorological bureaus and operational data from wind energy generators, such as site wind speed and direction, and turbine availability and output, to produce forecasts of expected wind energy generation…

Energy Concept
…renovation to upgrade energy performance is to be doubled from current levels, from 1% to 2% per year. The Energy Concept contains a wide variety of specific measures to meet these targets. - On top of this, there is an immediate action programme consisting of ten especially urgent measures. The immediate action programme focuses in particular on the expansion of offshore wind power and the expansion/upgrading of power grids. Every 3 years, starting in 2013, the Federal Government will carry out a scientifically grounded monitoring process to review the implementation status of the Energy Concept. Furthermore, the Energy Concept contains…

National CER Roadmap
…Energy Ministers agreed to publish the National Consumer Energy Resources (CER) Roadmap. The roadmap sets out an overarching vision and plan to unlock CER at scale across Australia. The roadmap's implementation plan outlines priority reforms through four workstreams: consumers, technology, markets, power system operations. The roadmap provides a national approach to reforms to ensure Australians are able to harness the full potential of CER. If consumer resources are coordinated effectively, they can help lower costs for all consumers by offsetting the need for billions of dollars in grid-scale investment. The Energy Ministers agreed to the development of the…

Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21)
REN21 is a global policy network that provides a forum for international leadership on renewable energy in which ideas are shared and action is encouraged to promote renewable energy worldwide. Its goal is to bolster policy development for the rapid expansion of renewable energies in developing and industrialized economies. Open to a wide variety of dedicated stakeholders, REN21 connects governments, international institutions, non-governmental organizations, industry associations, and other partnerships and initiatives. The U.S. serves as one of 13 national government entities on REN21s Steering Committee. The Steering Committee consists of some 30 individuals from governments, IGOs, NGOs, Industry…

National Energy Efficiency Strategy
…total energy mix shall reach 7% by 2015 and 10% by 2020. Such a share would be met with about 600 to 1000 MW of wind energy, 300 to 600 MW of solar thermal energy, 30 to 50 MW of energy from waste. The Plan provides investors with fiscal incentives, 100% exemption from income tax over 10 years, to encourage independent power producing projects to generate electricity on BOO and BOT basis. The plan contains several measures to boost renewable energy deployment, such as: - Progressively remove oil and electricity price subsidies to make them cost reflexive - Establish an energy data…

The plan also noted proposed efforts to cooperate with other countries in relation to methane countermeasures.Regarding minerals, the plan highlights the importance of critical minerals for supporting economic activities and responding to increased electricity demand. It addresses supply risks by securing stockpiles, diversifying supply sources and developing domestic marine mineral resources. These measures are crucial for ensuring a stable and sustainable energy future for Japan.

Energy hotline and internet platform
The free energy hotline and an internet platform of the German Energy Agency is designed to provide consumersand specialist agents with clear and immediately understandable information on forms of energy production, efficient energy use and renewable energies. Besides provision of general information, the focal point is concrete proposals for action and practical assistance. The ultimate objective is targeted referrals to further sources and information as well as consultations and funding. There is heavy demand for information on the subject of energy. In 2010 alone there were more than 2,600 written enquiries and approximately 9,700 telephone enquiries.

2050 Net-Zero Roadmap
The Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has released a roadmap to achieve net-zero emissions in the energy sector by 2050, centred around solar power but adaptable to future technological shifts. It presents three scenarios: one where rapid advances make solar energy even cheaper and more efficient, potentially reaching a PV capacity of 108 GW; another where hydrogen technology matures and plays a key role; and a third in which the country embraces nuclear power. Each path reflects different trajectories based on policy choices and innovation.
