Warmth and Wellbeing Pilot Scheme
The Warmth and Wellbeing Pilot Scheme is a joint policy initiative with the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, and the Department of Health, and is operated by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and the Health Service Executive. The scheme targets energy efficiency retrofits in the homes of people who are living with chronic respiratory conditions. This scheme aims to test the health benefits associated with improved energy efficiency environments in an Irish context. Revision of the Combined Heat and Power Act (CHP Act)
The revision of the CHP Act in 2016 aimed to increase the amount of net generation of electricity from CHP installations and to boost investment in, particularly efficient, flexible and low-carbon CHP installations.
The 2017 amendment to the CHP Act ensured that CHP legislation continues to be compatible with EU state aid rules and therefore delivers long-term legal security. The Act also sets out rules that make the funding procedure more competitive:
Since the end of 2017, the funding rate for electricity from combined heat and power (CHP) plants of between 1 and 50 megawatts has been determined… -

Germany's 2nd Amendment to the Building Energy Act (GEG) - phase-out of fossil fuels
In 2023, German Federal Government approved amendments to the Building Energy Act for new heating systems to use at least 65% renewable energy from 2024 onwards and for fossil fuels to phase out from heating by Jan 2045 in line with its climate-neutrality target. The ban will initially apply to new buildings, existing buildings will still allow a gas system until the deadline for municipalities to submit a heat plan (2026 for large cities and 2028 for towns). New gas boilers will continue to be allowed to be installed, if these boilers are operated with renewable gas, including hydrogen…

Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes
In May 2013 the Government announced an investment of $100 million to insulate 46,000 homes in a new three-year insulation programme delivering warmer, drier and healthier homes to communities in most need. The programme targetted low-income households, particularly those with high health needs - which includes children, the elderly, and people at risk of cold-related illness. Unlike its predecessor, Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart, the programme did not provide any funding to general income households, or for clean heating devices. The Government's investment of up to 60% of the cost of a house's insulation…
