Greek National Energy and Climate Plan
The NECP provides a roadmap for substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The core objective is set for 40% reduction in GHG emissions in 2030 compared to 1990, or more than 55% compared to 2005 levels. The policy measures foreseen for GHG emissions reduction and removal include:- Shutdown of lignite-fired power plants and interconnection of autonomous island systems;- Promoting natural gas as an intermediate fuel for reducing the carbon footprint of the energy system;- Promoting renewable energy sources (RES), storage systems and fuel production from RES;- Improvement in energy efficiency of buildings, industry and infrastructures;- Reduction in emissions…

10th Basic Energy Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand (2023-2036)
…for Electricity Supply and Demand establishes a 15-year roadmap (2022-2036) to ensure energy security through a balanced energy mix and large-scale infrastructure investment. The plan prioritises pre-emptive reinforcement of the power grid and the expansion of transmission and substation facilities to integrate volatile renewable sources and new nuclear power. To ensure system reliability during this transition, the plan identifies a critical investment requirement of approximately KRW 45 trillion by 2036 for renewable energy backup facilities, specifically for technologies such as synchronous condensers (to provide grid inertia) and Energy Storage Systems (ESS).A key pillar of the…

…from 1% to 2% per year. The Energy Concept contains a wide variety of specific measures to meet these targets. - On top of this, there is an immediate action programme consisting of ten especially urgent measures. The immediate action programme focuses in particular on the expansion of offshore wind power and the expansion/upgrading of power grids. Every 3 years, starting in 2013, the Federal Government will carry out a scientifically grounded monitoring process to review the implementation status of the Energy Concept. Furthermore, the Energy Concept contains a solid plan for financing the necessary measures over the long term.
