Support programme for the use of renewable energy sources in households
The Latvian government has developed a support program to help citizens cope with increased energy prices and promote energy independence. The program includes transitioning from fossil fuel heating systems to renewable energy systems like biomass pellet boilers, solar collectors, and heat pumps. It also supports the purchase of renewable energy equipment for electricity production, such as solar panels and wind generators, and the creation of connections to district heating systems. The program is financed by the Auctioning Instrument of Emission Allowances and managed by the Environmental Investment Fund.

Renewable Energy for Heating and Cooling and Small Interventions Increasing Energy Efficiency Support Scheme – Inter-ministerial Decree 16 February 2016. Amendment to the Conto Termico.
Conto Termico 2.0, in force since May 31st 2016, strengthens and simplifies the support mechanism "Conto Termico" already introduced by the MD December 28th 2012, which encourages measures to increase energy efficiency and the production of thermal energy from RE.
The total annual budget is up to 900 million euro of which 200 for public administrations projects and 700 million euro for the private initiatives. Once this cap will be reached, program will be closed for new applications. If not reached, cap will be modified after 2 years since entering of the scheme into force. Sustainable Energy Irelands Boilers Initiative comprises a set of integrated measures designed to support, encourage and educate boiler users and service providers. The initiative aims to raise operational standards, increase energy efficiency and improve competitiveness. The Annual Boiler Awards Competition, organised by Sustainable Energy Ireland was first launched in 1996. Boiler Act 2025
The Boilers Act 2025 regulates the design, manufacture, and use of boilers in India to prevent steam-boiler explosions and ensure safety. It defines a boiler as a pressure vessel with a capacity of at least 25 litres that generates steam under specified pressure and temperature. The Act mandates registration, periodic inspection, and the use of certified welders for all repairs and construction. Owners must report accidents within twenty-four hours and comply with safety regulations. This law replaces the 1923 Act, establishing a uniform national framework for registration and technical standards.

Cantonal Building Refurbishment Programmes
There are 26 cantonal programmes that subsidise private investments in energy savings and renewable energies in the building sector. The cantonal building programmes are financed through a base amount from the national CO2-levy on heating fuels. Every franc from the canton invested in the building programm is further topped up with two francs from the national CO2-levy.
