Support programme for the use of renewable energy sources in households

The Latvian government has developed a support program to help citizens cope with increased energy prices and promote energy independence. The program includes transitioning from fossil fuel heating systems to renewable energy systems like biomass pellet boilers, solar collectors, and heat pumps. It also supports the purchase of renewable energy equipment for electricity production, such as solar panels and wind generators, and the creation of connections to district heating systems. The program is financed by the Auctioning Instrument of Emission Allowances and managed by the Environmental Investment Fund.

                Boiler Act 2025

The Boilers Act 2025 regulates the design, manufacture, and use of boilers in India to prevent steam-boiler explosions and ensure safety. It defines a boiler as a pressure vessel with a capacity of at least 25 litres that generates steam under specified pressure and temperature. The Act mandates registration, periodic inspection, and the use of certified welders for all repairs and construction. Owners must report accidents within twenty-four hours and comply with safety regulations. This law replaces the 1923 Act, establishing a uniform national framework for registration and technical standards.
