NOM-003-ENER-1995: Thermal efficiency of water heaters for domestic and commercial use
This standard applies to water heaters for domestic and commercial use using L.P. gas or natural gas that produces only hot water. Likewise, it applies only to the following types of heaters: (1) storage (automatic or semi-automatic); (2) rapid recovery; and (3) instantaneous (Type 1 = 9.8 kPa and Type 2 = 10.9 kPa). Thermal loads from 6 to 80 kW. The standard establishes the thermal efficiency that the heaters must achieve based on the lower calorific power as well as the temperature of the water at the outlet. Support for decarbonising the economy
The Renovation Campaign offers national funding für households to insulate their buildings to reduce energy and replace fossil heating systems to decarbonise the room heating in Austria. With the financial package of the 2023-2025 budget in Austria about 224.000 projects had been registered with a funding budget of 3,65 billion Euro, more than 130.000 had been implemented until end of 2024. with the aim to support the decarbonisation of room heating in its economy until 2040. Renovation of multiapartment buildings
This policy is a compensation mechanism under the government's multi-apartment building renovation programme. It is aimed at reducing thermal energy consumption, encouraging rational use of energy resources ensuring efficient use of housing, and improving the living environment and quality of life for the population. It is planned to reduce heating consumption in multi-apartment and public buildings by 30-40% by 2020 and compared to 2011 to save heat from 2 to 3 TWh per year.
