        Highlights and data explorer of monthly electricity production and trade data for all OECD member countries and electricity production data for a selection of other economies

        Oil Information

        Annual time series of oil data including oil supply and consumption, trade and oil demand for 153 countries and 25 regions.
        The service is updated twice a year: in April with complete data up to year-2 and in July/August with additional provisional supply data for the year-1. The Oil Information data service contains time series of oil data for 38 OECD countries and 14 European non-OECD countries from 1960 to 2024. Country aggregates for OECD Total, OECD Americas, OECD Asia Oceania, OECD Europe, IEA Total, EU27 (excluding the United Kingdom) and EU28 are also included.Statistics…

        In Yemen, less than half of the population has access to electricity. In 2010, the government launched a National Strategy for renewable energy and energy efficiency, which aims to develop grid and off-grid renewable energy and targets a 15% share of renewable electricity generation by 2025.

As the country embarks on an ambitious energy transition, it has many natural advantages, including a strong renewable resource base. New Zealand already has a low-emissions electricity system, with over 80% of electricity coming from renewable sources. The key challenge will be to decarbonise other end-use sectors through clean power and support investments in new technologies to achieve deeper emissions cuts across all sectors. Notably, the transport sector accounts for the highest share of emissions and is almost entirely dependent on oil while industry is also heavily reliant on fossil fuels.
