Implementation of EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)
All new buildings are obliged to satisfy at least 50% of hot water demand by mean of solar generation. On 6 March 2009, a Presidential Decree regarding the methodology of calculation and minimum requirements for buildings, heating system and thermal system for hot water demand, was approved, implementing article 4, a) and b) of Legislative Decree 192/2005. Wales Home Energy Efficiency Scheme - Nest
The Nest scheme in Wales offers a range of free, impartial advice and a package of free home energy efficiency improvements such as a new boiler, central heating or insulation for those eligible. Applicants must own or privately rent their home (not from a local authority or housing association), receive a means tested benefit, and the home should be energy inefficient and expensive to heat (equivalent to an E, F or G energy efficiency rating).

2023 efficient and electric vehicle adoption incentives
The French government allocated extended budget outlays to two consumer subsidy schemes promoting the purchase of electric vehicles, or hydrogen-based vehicles (Bonus écologique) or energy-efficient vehicles (prime à la conversion).In addition, a new "social leasing" scheme enabling low-revenue households to rent an electric car for EUR 100/month was implemented from January to mid-February 2024. It was extremely successful, and its budget was swiftly depleted in 2024. A renewal of the scheme is announced for 2025.

TERMO Programme
The TERMO Programme is a financial support system for the renovation and thermomodernisation of buildings, funded by the Thermomodernisation and Renovation Fund (FTiR). Support is provided in form of bonuses or non-repayable grants to cover part of costs of investements in improving energy efficiency and development of renewable energy sources in multifamily residential buildings. The Programme is available to owners and managers of multifamily residential buildings, including housing owners associations, housing cooperatives, social housing societies, social housing initiatives, municipalities, municipal companies, and private owners.
