IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes (TCPs)
The IEA TCPs support the work of independent, international groups of experts and industries to lead programmes and projects on a variety of energy technologies and related issues. A number of IEA TCPs foster cooperation on social dimensions of clean energy, including the Users TCP, providing insights on the design, social acceptance and usability of clean energy technologies, and the Wind TCP, examining social acceptance of renewables infrastructure. The Users TCP focusses on the vital role of people in energy technology systems and sees user-centred energy systems as critical for delivering socially and politically acceptable energy transitions. IEA Research Cooperation
Austria is participating in 21 Technology Collaboration Programmes (TCPs). These complement national energy reserach efforts and priorities. With the Technology Programme "IEA Research Cooperation" BMK is funding Austrian participations in Excecutive Committees, Tasks and Annexes of IEA TCPs. Apart from research and international exchange, dissemination of the results and network activities in Austria are goals of the programme.

National Action Plan on Climate Change
…includes specific goals for increasing use of solar thermal technologies in urban areas, industry and commercial establishments. It sets a goal of increasing production of photovoltaics to 1000 MW per year, and to deploy at least 1000 MW of solar thermal power generation. It also sets the objective of establishing a solar research centre, increased international collaboration on technology development, strengthening of domestic manufacturing capacity, and increased government funding and international support. Sustainable community technology programme

In turn, the standard of construction has a major impact on the use of energy during both the construction process and the lifetime of a building. The Sustainable community technology programme will encourage Finnish research institutes, universities and companies to engage in international collaboration by exchanging information and networking companies and research groups. The programme will provide opportunities for ambitious R&D projects and develop business expertise and international cooperation. It will serve as a gateway to best researcher groups and innovative R&D companies in Finland.

Clean Growth Programme

Solar Thermal Technology Platform
…Commission announced the launch of the European Solar Thermal Technology Platform, an initiative of the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation to facilitate the development of future research and development in solar thermal power generation. The European Solar Thermal Industry Federation is the umbrella of national solar thermal associations and includes over 700 members Europe-wide.
