Clean Growth Programme

The Clean Growth Program allocated CAD155 million in clean technology research and development, and demonstration projects in energy, mining and forestry. It funded 43 clean technology RD&D projects, reducing 13 131 tonnes of CO2 in 2021-22. This programme covered five sectors and is focused on the most pressing environmental challenges and economic opportunities facing Canada’s natural resource operations: Reducing greenhouse gas and air-polluting emissionsMinimising landscape disturbances and improving waste managementProducing and using advanced materials and bioproductsProducing and using energy efficientlyReducing water use and impacts on aquatic ecosystems.
The program also supports projects by facilitating collaboration with Federal Government Laboratories, offering innovators access to research expertise, facilities, and equipment.
