Portugal’s NECP 2030 is primarily focused on the short-term horizon up to 2030, setting out a comprehensive set of targets, policies and measures in order to achieve the national climate and energy goals. At the same time, it establishes a clear trajectory towards focuses on achieving carbon climate neutrality by 2045 by promoting renewable energy (targeting 51% share by 2030), reducing GHG emissions by 55% compared to 2005, improving energy efficiency with limits on final and primary energy consumption, and strengthening electricity interconnections. Portugal and EIB signs MoU to accelerate investments in the hydrogen field
Portugal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to advance the deployment of the hydrogen economy.
The EIB will provide financial and advisory support to foster investments in eligible projects. The MoU is a non-binding agreement between the two, aligned with both Portugal PNEC 2030 and the EU Hydrogen Strategy.
