Overview
Participation by invite only.
This 60-minute webinar will be a knowledge exchange between data compilers collecting public energy technology RD&D budget data for the IEA Energy Data Centre. The webinar will cover key concepts related to filling out the questionnaire with a focus on how to integrate the updated classification system into existing processes. The IEA Secretariat will demonstrate how to fill the Excel questionnaire and address common questions, and presentations by delegates will provide first-hand insights into how they have implemented the new classification system in their data collection. The webinar will conclude with an open discussion for compilers to ask questions, share best practices, and provide feedback on the classification system.

The IEA’s Energy Technology RD&D Budgets database allows users to track trends in spending by energy technology in IEA countries back to 1974. Budget data are classified by technology using a structured framework, recently updated to reflect a changing energy landscape, that categorizes energy technologies into nine main areas.
