Implied long-term annual mitigation rate and ambition gap with new Nationally Determined Contributions

NDC = nationally determined contribution. The visualisation shows only countries that submitted a new NDC between 1 January 2024 and 27 March 2026 and have pledged to reach net zero emissions by any given date. Labelling is limited to the ten highest emitters that submitted their new NDCs, for ease of reading. The annual mitigation rates are based on compliance in full and on time of the NDCs and long-term pledges, including any conditional components. Detailed methodology can be found in the Annex of the State of Energy Policy 2026.
