UK green licence plates
…a green flash on the left-hand side of the plate to raise awareness about clean energy vehicles. The government also expects that the initiative will help drivers benefit from local incentives such as access to cheaper parking and entry into zero-emissions zones, all of which will motivate greater uptake of electric vehicles. The first plates were introduced on UK roads in December 2020 and can be retrofitted onto existing zero-emissions vehicles. Research conducted by Nissan and YouGov found that 32% of people surveyed indicated they were more likely to purchase an EV because of the green strip.

EU initiative for coal regions in transition in the Western Balkans and Ukraine

The initiative offers an open platform for region-wide multi-stakeholder dialogue to share experiences, knowledge and best practices on the transition, and region-to-region exchanges with EU counterparts. The selected pilot regions will be able to access dedicated trainings through a Coal Academy, technical assistance in the development of transition roadmaps, and receive support to access financing opportunities. Greece’s just transition strategy for lignite workers

For both the Dytiki Makedonia and Peloponnesus coal-mining regions, Greece participates in the Initiative for coal regions in transition that offers technical assistance and capacity building toward the development of inclusive transition strategies and roadmaps. In 2020, Greece submitted a detailed plan for managing a just transition for its coal regions to the European Commission, supported by the World Bank and the EC’s Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support. EU sectoral dialogue for electricity
…Among the focus areas of the dialogue are managing the ‘just energy transition,’ skills and qualifications, and youth employment. A 2017 joint declaration of the Electricity Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee focused on the need for quality job creation, reskilling/upskilling, involvement of local partners and communities, as well as European financial instruments to support a just transition in electricity. In 2018, the social partners signed the ‘Roadmap on Skills and Qualifications and the ‘Joint pledge to join the European Alliance for Apprenticeships’, which are aimed at future-proofing the skills and qualifications of workers as part of the electricity transition.

The Polish National Recovery Plan sets out measures for rebuilding Poland's socio-economic resilience after the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. 2022 - 2033 National Transport Plan - Urban growth agreement
…to existing ones (Fornebubanen in Oslo and Viken, Bybanen in Bergen, Metrobussen in Trondheim and Bussveien in Nord-Jæren). A new subsidy scheme will also target five smaller urban areas. Total investment in urban areas nears NOK 80 billion, covering measures for developing public transport, cycling and walking along national, county and municipal roads. The Government contribution will cover up to 50 percent of the costs in five large public transport projects (so-called 50/50 projects) and a new metro tunnel in the Oslo area, Bybanen to Fyllingsdalen in Bergen, Bussveien in Nord-Jæren and Metrobuss in Trondheim.

National Mission on Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage
In 2019, the Government of India approved the "National Mission on Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage" and consists of an Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee, chaired by NITI Aayog. The missions shall help India to improve its air quality along with reducing India’s oil import dependence and enhance the uptake of renewable energy and storage solutions. For this, the mission shall recommend and drive strategies for transformative mobility and Phased Manufacturing Programmes for EVs, EV Components and Batteries and is further tasked to develop roadmaps to implement domestic battery manufacturing.

National Policy on Biofuels (2022 Amendment)
…National Policy on Biofuels" in 2018, and further amended it in June 2022. The policy's objective is to reduce the import of petroleum products by fostering domestic biofuel production. The amendment changed the following, selected elements in the 2018 National Policy on Biofuels: - Advance the deadline to reach the blending target of 20% bioethanol in petrol, from 2030 to 2025-26 . - Make additional feedstocks eligible for the production of biofuels. The policy supersedes India's 2009 National Biofuel Policy . Building on the amended National Policy on Biofuels, India published a "Roadmap for Ethanol Blending in India 2020-25".

CCUS Hubs and Technologies program
The Australian Government launched a AUD 250 million programme in 2021 to deploy carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) technologies at scale.The CCUS Hubs and Technologies program looks to boost Australia’s CCUS capabilities by encouraging domestic and international research collaborations, and lowering the cost of technology adoption. The CCUS Hubs and Technologies program will support the roadmap's stretch goal of CO2 compression, transport and storage under AUD 20 per tonne. The program will complement the Clean Hydrogen Industrial Hubs program with potential CO2 storage sites in some priority hub locations.
