E-Energy - ICT-based energy system of the future
…the development of renewable energies and for increasing energy efficiency, funding of the pilot projects is taking place in a cross-departmental partnership between the BMWi and the BMU. The BMWi is providing up to €40m for four pilot regions and the BMU is paying up to €20m to fund two additional pilot regions. Thus taken together with the contributions of the participant companies a total of about €140m is being mobilised for the development of the six E-Energy pilot regions. The objective of E-Energy is the development of new solutions52 Energy efficiency and energy savings in Germany

GREAT (Green Region for Electrification and Alternatives fuels for Transport)
…fuel infrastructure and vehicles, decarbonisation of the transport fleet and transition away from fossil fuels. In the long term, the Action will provide experience and policy tools on cleaner transportation.
The Action consists of a study with pilot aiming to deploy roughly 70 triple standard quick chargers and three LNG/CNG stations, over more than 900 km of the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor and the Core road network (in Germany, Sweden and Denmark). The exact locations of the stations will be defined during the Action.
In addition, based on the installed quick chargers and LNG fuelling stations, the Action will develop… -

Fast E
Co-financed by the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), fast-E is the currently largest EV infrastructure deployment project funded by the European Commission.
A total number of 307 multi-standard-fast chargers in four Countries, covering more than 20,000 km of major roads in Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia, will provide a significant amount of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Driving between Urban Areas, and even crossing borders with electric mobility will no longer be a theory. By the end of 2018, the fast-E network will be completed and be able to serve green… -

Energy-related Products Act (EVPG): Ecodesign implementing measure for electric motors
The federal government has implement the EU's Ecodesign Directive (2005/32/EC) into German law by means of the Energy-using Products Act (EBPG). The Ecodesign Directive constitutes the framework for the introduction of the harmonized standards with regard to ecodesign of energy-using products in the EU. During the recast of the Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC), its scope was extended to all energy-relevant products. The EU Ecodesign Directive (2005/32/EC) was transposed into German law in 2008. The Energy-using Products Act (EBPG) was replaced in 2011 through the Energy-related Products Act (EVPG). The…

Advisory Services
On 1 July 1998, a support programme to provide advice on energy conservation in residential buildings was reintroduced; it had ceased at the end of 1997 for financial reasons. This programme involves on-site advice in residential buildings for which permission to build was given before 1984 (1989 in eastern Germany). Under this programme, owners of dwellings (and some small and medium-sized companies ) receive a grant if they are given on-site advice by professional experts on potential energy conservation measures. Between the beginning of the programme in 1991 and its end in 1997, a total of 16 000…

Energy Efficiency Networks Initiative
As part of the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency (NAPE), the German Federal Government and 21 industry associations have founded the Energy Efficiency Networks Initiative. The goal of the initiative is to establish 500 energy efficiency networks by the end of 2020 (with 5-15 companies per network), thereby reducing greenhouse gas emission by 5 million tons. Energy efficiency networks offer companies a structured exchange of experiences with energy efficiency projects. Each network formulates an energy saving goal that companies aspire to reach by the end of the network cooperation. At the end of a network cooperation, an independet…

Mod.EEM - Modular Energy Efficiency Model
…implementation of an adaptable, web-based energy management system, respectively tailored to companies with differing structures and sizes in the pilot region of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW) taking into account normative peripheral conditions (DIN EN 16001, EMAS). It is planned to make the results available to all companies in Germany. This should put them in the position to improve energy performance continuously by means of a systematic approach. Initially approximately 100 companies in NRW are being recruited for the project. The project is being supported by means of an annual Å“energy manager competition in consultation with the DIHK.
