Energy Efficiency & Resources R&D Program
In September 2009, the National Enterprise of Energy Technology Development of Korea has secured its grounds by passing and enforcing the Energy Act. Under this law, KEMCO and KETEP, both affiliated agencies of MOTIE, have undertaken a pivotal role for managing government funded researches for renewable energy sources. In 2006, MOTIE had provided $52 million under the First National Energy Technology Development Plan. Basic Plan for Climate Change Response
On December 6, 2016, the Korean government adopted the Basic Plan for Climate Change Response, in order to set up domestic framework to implement the Paris Agreement. Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS)
