                Section 301 - Additional tariff on Chinese products

                The U.S. Trade Representative determined that acts, policies, and practices of the Government of China related to technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation were unreasonable or discriminatory, and burdened or restricted U.S. commerce, and thus were actionable under the Trade Act. Additional 25% tariff was applied on a list of products from China including solar, wind, electric vehicles, electrolyser and heat pumps.

                Living Lab

                Living Lab is a network of thousands of households ready to participate in trials of new clean energy innovations. This network allows innovators without a large customer base to capture energy data from homes via smart meters, smart heating controls, battery storage, solar PV, electric vehicles and chargers, and heat meters.
                The Living Lab combines network emulation and real-time simulations of future energy system scenarios, enabling the testing and analysis of innovative technologies' impact and performance under future market conditions.                 Central America - Mexico Free Trade Agreement

                … Agglomerated and reduced iron;Alumina, scrap metal, ammonia, crude steel;Aluminium, nitrogen fertilizers, solar PV modules, solar cells, solar wafers;Polysilicon, battery packs, battery cells; Anodes and cathodes, electrolysers, heat pumps; Electric vehicles, ICE cars, among other technologies;The agreement also includes rules of origin and local content provisions. Goods may benefit from preferential tariff treatment if:wholly produced or obtained in one of the signatory countries, or having undergone there a sufficient production process, eg. one that entails a change in HS code orincorporating non-originating material valued at less than 50 percent of the regional value of the product.

                Canada - Israel Free Trade Agreement

                The Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) took effect on January 1, 1997, removing tariffs on all industrial goods produced in Canada and Israel, along with a select number of agricultural and fisheries products. The agreement provides for the elimination of tariffs for the following goods, among others:Primary cells and primary batteries : Manganese dioxide;Heat pumps; Electric vehicles (Tariff treatment granted only by Canada);"Fuel and energy" are classified as neutral elements, for which determination of origin does not need to be ascertained.

                Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)

                …gradually eliminating import duties and other non-tariff barriers to trade for most energy products and technologies, including: Agglomerated and reduced iron;Alumina and Scrap metal;Ammonia; Crude steel and Aluminium;Solar PV modules, Solar wafers, and Solar cells; Polysilicon, Battery packs and battery cells;Electrolysers and Heat pumps;Electric vehicles and ICE cars;The Agreement also establishes common external tariffs for goods imported in the Economic Community. Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement include provisions preventing goods only undergoing minimal transformations , and goods not wholly produced in one of the signatory countries to benefit from preferential tariff treatment.

                …August 2014, fully or partially eliminating import tariff for most energy products and technologies, including:  Agglomerated and reduced iron;Alumina, scrap metal, ammonia, crude steel;Aluminium, nitrogen fertilizers;Solar PV modules, solar cells, solar wafers;Polysilicon, battery packs, battery cells;Anodes and cathodes, electrolysers, heat pumps; Electric vehicles, ICE cars, among other technologies;Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement include provisions preventing goods only undergoing minimal transformations in one of the signatory countries or incorporating materials of external origin valued above 10% of the transaction value of the good to benefit from the tariff treatment established by the Agreement.

                Free Trade Agreement Chile-Uruguay

                The Chile-Uruguay Free Trade Agreement entered into force in December 2018. The Agreement provides for the reduction or elimination of import tariffs and restrictions, notably for the following products: Agglomerated and reduced iron;Alumina, scrap metal;Ammonia, crude steel, aluminium;Nitrogen fertilizers;Solar PV modules, solar cells, solar wafers;Polysilicon;Battery packs, battery cells;Anodes and cathodes;Electrolysers, heat pumps, electric vehicles;Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement include provisions preventing goods only undergoing minimal transformations in one of the signatory countries or incorporating excessive values of materials of external origin to benefit from the tariff treatment.

                Chile-EFTA Free Trade Agreement

                …force in December 2004. The Agreement provides for partial or total elimination of import tariffs, notably for the following products: Agglomerated and reduced iron;Alumina, scrap metal, ammonia;Crude steel, aluminium;Nitrogen fertilizers;Solar PV modules, solar cells, solar wafers;Polysilicon, battery packs, battery cells;Anodes and cathodes;Electrolysers, heat pumps;Electric vehicles, ICE cars;Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement include provisions preventing goods only undergoing minimal transformations in one of the signatory countries, as well as good incorporating non-originating materials valued above 10 per cent of their ex-works price to benefit from preferential tariff treatment.
